A study conducted by the World Health Organization and published in the Journal of Environmental International in May 2021 found that worldwide, long working hours were linked to about 745,000 deaths in a year from stroke and ischemic heart disease — a 29% increase since 2000 in deaths linked to overwork.
The Problem
Coming home from work, I felt so exhausted that doing chores after I got home became a major undertaking. Then, I realized all of my friends had the same thoughts. They thoughts that chores are endless. even 24 hours won't be enough for them.
The problem is the homeowner has too many chores and they don't have enough time to rest.
The Solution
I imagine someone can do it for me when I am not around and could see my house was cleaned before I arrived home. So, I created an iOS Mobile app where the homeowner could hire anybody to take care of their house while they went for a couple of days.
The Impact
With Home-Trust, homeowners are able to take a break and spend more time with their families. They are able to do what they love and focus on their needs, They also able to keep their houses clean and tidy at the same time.
To get a better scope of the idea, I did User Interview.
The Research Takeaway
So, how might we save time for the homeowner so they can have enough rest?
I noticed that they need extra hands for their house. I want them to be able to hire someone they trust to do their chores. Before I was ready to continue the next step, I did Guerrilla Testing to save time before I continued to high-fidelity.
4 out of 5 people I interviewed are parents.
Interview Questions:

- What did you do after work hours?
- How do you feel after work?
- How do you feel about it?
- What do you want to do after work?
Interview Feedback:
Most of the users I interviewed were too bored and anxious because they have to do housework after doing their job. They felt trapped because they worked too hard. They are also frustrated when their work is endless.
Guerrilla Usability Testing
And here are the sketches I used for the Guerrilla testing.
I have to make sure that the design was usable. Therefore, I continue with Guerilla Usability Testing. And here are their feedback.
- Misleading Landing page
4 out of 5 users I tested thought this was a travel app in the beginning because of the palm tree image.
- More Option
2 out of 5 users I tested- would like to have a chat button. They wanted to build trust with a home-tasker, telling them some tasks to do, or scheduling the appointments.

The next step is high-fidelity
After I was done with the Guerilla testing and got the feedback, I decided to move forward to high fidelity version.  Here are some of revisions I have made based on the feedback.

What is the impact of this project.
- From the homeowner's perspective, homeowners are now able to spend more time with the family and are more productive in their work. With home-trust, they can have specific work done such as house deep cleaning, laundry, lawn, or taking care of their pet for several days.
- From the home-tasker perspective, they are able to make an extra buck for their side income in their free time. Because this is not a scheduled task, they are free to make themselves unavailable or available whenever they want to. Or they can consider this as a hobby if they like to take care of their pet or an OCD and likes to make sure everything is clean.
What did I learn from this project.
Hiring someone is not as easy as I thought. It needs some negotiations, a hiring period, and tasks. I learned it from guerrilla testing when some users have many questions for the hometasker. Therefore, the chat feature is up so they can discuss everything freely.
